😅 Are Nerves Stopping you in your tracks?

We’ve all been there. That fluttery feeling in your stomach before a big interview, the creeping self-doubt before a team meeting, or the anxiety that comes with starting a new work week. Whether you’re a seasoned professional or just starting out, nerves are completely normal but they don’t have to take over.

Here are a few quick ways to manage those nerves and feel more in control:

Breathe (Properly) Before your meeting or interview, take a few slow, deep breaths. Inhale for four counts, hold for four, exhale for four. It sounds simple, but this calms your nervous system and helps you feel grounded.

Prepare – But Not Too Much It’s great to be ready, but don’t over-prepare to the point of overwhelm. Have your key points, questions, or achievements clear in your mind, then let go of the need to be perfect.

Remember Your Worth Nerves often come from the fear that we’re not good enough. Take a moment to remind yourself of your skills, your experience, and what you bring to the table. You’re not an imposter, you’ve earned your place.

Shift the Focus Instead of thinking “What if I mess up?” try thinking, “How can I show up with curiosity today?” Shifting your focus from performance to presence helps you stay open, not frozen.

Talk About It If you’re consistently nervous before meetings or work events, speak to a coach, mentor or trusted friend. You’re not alone, and sometimes a quick chat can make a huge difference.

You’re not the only one who feels this way.

Nerves mean you care. But with the right tools and mindset, you can walk into your next meeting or interview with more confidence and less stress.
