Baby it’s cold outside, but Spring is just around the corner. Back for its fifth year, we are proud to announce SPRING FORWARD 2019, Brighton’s huge month-long season of digital community events to celebrate women in digital culture. Events run by women for women. There’s a different event every evening in March! Highlights for 2019 include:
CONFIDENCE WORKSHOP (with added prosecco!)
Monday 4 March, 68 Middle St, 6:00pm
Brighton Digital Women aims to encourage more women to enter the digital sector and take up leadership roles, and we want to help you go for that great job, speak at that event, rock that big meeting and get that promotion. So we’ve gathered together some inspirational women to facilitate sessions that will help you feel more confident in yourself.
MOTHER & DAUGHTER TECH WORKSHOP
Saturday 23 March, 68 Middle St, 10am
Are you unsure exactly what computer programming is? Do you prefer to learn things hands-on, with real-world feedback? Then come along with your daughter to a FREE workshop to find out more!
CREATE YOUR OWN WEBSITE
Thursday 21 March, 68 Middle St, 6pm
Need a website for your business but not sure what to do? The objective of this workshop is to empower women to build their own website and feel more confident with technology. So please join us for this practical session if this is you!
Friday 8 March, Sallis Benney Theatre, 6pm
Welcome to a massive SheSays evening of talks and networking. We’ve been running these events since 2011 and we’re delighted to invite back five previous speakers, who, since appearing at SheSays have taken major national leadership roles in their industries. Come and celebrate their successes on International Women’s Day 2019.
Spring Forward launched in 2014 by Jenni Lloyd and Viviana Doctorovich and for the past three years organised by Rifa Thorpe-Tracey. https://www.wespringforward.com
Running in March to coincide with International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month, each year Spring Forward fills the month with events run by and/or focused on women in digital. Our ongoing mission is to encourage women to take a greater role in tech by creating a range of platforms that promote digital community events that place women at their centre.
