Hey you, Happy New Year? I hope so!
It’s been a trying week, and I’m not going to lie—it’s been a bit of an odd one. I’m not going to ‘overshare’ but it’s been full of ups and downs. It’s reminded me of something I often say:
Healing isn’t linear
When you’re on any kind of journey—whether it’s therapy, counselling, or just stumbling through life—it’s never a straight line. You might think you’ve dealt with something, only for it to pop back up and catch you off guard. That’s all part of the ride.
Some of you might remember that I used to be a Reiki Master. For years, I taught people how to heal themselves and others. While I’m no longer practising Reiki in the same way, those years shaped me deeply. I’m also an advanced meditation teacher, having trained with amazing teachers in India. It’s a different kind of energy now, a deeper current that flows through everything I do, whether it’s manifesting, events or coaching.
When I first started my Refigure business, my goal was to bridge the gap between the corporate, digital world and mywellbeing, healing practices. I thought this mix would help me connect with more people, and it’s definitely grown my audience.
I’ve been reminded of the tools I already have, tools from those earlier years that still serve me so well. This week, I’ve relied on them to get myself back on track, and I’d love to share them with you.
I call this little system BUMP. It’s simple and effective. And because the word has different meanings – you’ll remember it. 😅
◦ B is for Breathe. Take some deep breaths. In through the nose, out through the mouth. It’s amazing how much this can help.
◦ U is for Understand Yourself. Pause and check in with what’s really going on for you. What are you feeling? What do you need?
◦ M is for Meditate. Whatever that means for you, whether it’s sitting quietly, having a mindful cup of tea, or staring at the sky, just take a moment to be still.
◦ P is for Prance. Yes, prance! Put on your favourite song and dance around like a fool. Shake it out, move your body, and feel the joy in the silliness.
So this week, if life feels heavy, BUMP yourself. Things isn’t always straightforward, but these little steps can help you find your balance again—and maybe even make you laugh while you’re at it.
Thank you for sticking with me—it means so much. And if you’re feeling stuck or just want someone to chat with, I’d love to help. I’m offering a free call to talk about where you are and where you want to go. Here’s the link so let’s connect. https://rifa.co.uk/book-a-call/
Take care of yourself, remember to prance, and keep going. Healing is never a straight line, but it’s always worth the journey.
With love,
Rifa
